Bad News

I needed to post this separately. Grampy as my kids call him (Joe's father Willie)is back in the hospital. For those who don't know, Willie has Melanoma which has spread throughout his body. He completed standard treatments which did not work and not too long ago he was given 6 months to live. He began on experimental treatments recently but to no avail. He may be released from the hospital tomorrow under hospice care and from what I hear it may be only a matter of a few weeks. Life as we know it is going to change and strength is much needed at this difficult time.

Justin is in denial and Casey is devastated. She is pretty much crying herself to sleep every night and not being able to "fix it" is killing me. Both of Joe's parents have been there for my children and they have both been such a big part of their lives. Life is not fair.

Willie is such a kind and gentle soul. Maybe this is why God is calling him home.
