What an amazing woman! I am scheduled 1/9/06 for a mastectomy and have been doing well up to and through the holidays, but now the big day is 3 days away and I am nervous. Wendy made me realize that I can get through this. Sure it sucks, but I will do it and be OK. I didn't know about the DIEP flap reconstruction until too late. Whay didn't Dana Farber tell me BI did it with Dr. Morris, et al? I will try to elect it sometime in the fall of this year. In the meantime I am grateful to Wendy. I have tried to be too stoic and now I am coming unglued...I am going to the Brigham and hope that my experience is healing and that the staff pay attention! I work full time as an administrator and want to come back in three weeks. Wonder if I am too optimistic? I am having a breast reduction left breast also ( so I don't fall over?) Had every test you can think of; they could have thrown in a pedicure at least. Have daughters who hahve been great and want to stay strong for them. Role model? Maybe... or just want them to not suffer for me. Anyway, thanks for leting me ramble. My best wishes for your health Wendy, and a return to all the good things in life you love.
